Tessa has always been very protective of her loved ones, and she still is that way at 20 years old.
The terrier mix adores her mother, but nothing compares to her banana toy. It's just padding and yellow cloth, but it's special to Tessa, and she makes sure everyone recognizes her as such.
Shanna Lauren, Tessa's mother, bought the banana five years ago after a dog destroyed Tessa's beloved toy. “I found it in the trash at a pet store, but I knew it was the size of a toy she loved,” Lauren told the newspaper. “As soon as I gave her the banana, she took it.”
Tessa now proudly displays her bananas to visitors and asks them to honor her prized toy.
He added: "She wants people to acknowledge her before she leaves her." “When you put him down, you put him in what you think is the best bed.”
Puppies are stubborn when it comes to bananas. Don't let their age or hearing loss get in the way of achieving their goal. "We asked guests to tell her they saw her banana so she could lie down," Lauren continued. “It's funny that now that she's deaf, our friends are yelling at her, 'I love your bananas, Tessa!'
Tessa believes you're never too old to sleep with your favorite cuddly toy.
“She never made it a game,” Lauren explained. “It is her only small possession, and it is her life.”
